Cannabidiol (CBD) ranks Number Two on the list of cannabis’ active ingredients. CBD is extracted from the hemp plant – which is similar, but not identical to, the marijuana plant. While it offers some of the effects of marijuana (such as pain and stress relief), it’s not a hallucinogenic – and it won’t get you ‘high’.
CBD performs many of the same functions as medical marijuana – on a lesser scale. Most people make active use of CBD products for its therapeutic benefits. These are commonly thought to include:
- Anxiety relief
- Inflammation relief
- Pain relief
- Seizure and epilepsy management
CBD can be ingested in many forms. Some people prefer consuming it through edibles such as gummies. You can also absorb it directly through your skin by using a variety of creams and oils. One of the most popular and simplest methods, however, are CBD Vaping Pen Pods.
What Are Vape Pens?
Vape pens have been around since 2010 when a company called Janty introduced them to the e-cigarette market – although they got a major popularity boost from Joyetech. Slender and compact like their namesake (the pen) these rechargeable, battery-powered devices were a big hit for many reasons!
Firstly, vape pens offered longer battery life than standard, self-contained e-cigarette models at the time. They also allowed users to change cartridges or pods, offering a much wider range of options for vaping.
Today, vape pens are used for all kinds of products, from nicotine to cannabis and everything in between. Luckily, they’re also compatible with CBD oil, so if you use hemp products to treat stress or manage pain, read on to find out how vape pens and CBD pods work hand-in-hand!
Using a Vape Pen for CBD Pods
Vape pens work with cartridges – meaning all you need to do is choose which CBD oil pod you fancy, and insert it into your device.
Important note: Make sure that the cartridge you’ve purchased is compatible with your pen device!
One you’ve chosen the perfect pod for you, follow these simple steps:
- Start with one or two small inhales, and wait a few minutes to test how this affects you (you don’t want to go too hard, too fast!)
- Some pens have multiple settings (usually ranging between 3.3-3.8 volts). If yours is one of them, start with the lowest setting to prevent nasty, burnt-flavoured puffs.
- Once you’re happy with the voltage setting and know what you can handle, sit back and enjoy!
Whatever pen or pod you choose, CBD vape is a very popular and economical way to imbibe hemp products. Once you’ve picked the right pen, switching cartridges to suit your taste offers an opportunity to switch things up and try new flavours whenever you like!
There’s a whole range of delicious pods to choose from. You can purchase these online, or from a local vape shop. If you’re stumped for choice, check out some of my easy favourites here!
