The correct equipment on any construction site is crucial since it will ensure that tools are used safely. So, if you are about to lead a project and notice that your tools are looking overworked.

2. PPE For Construction Site

All workers on site should wear the proper PPE for the job. No matter what, construction managers and site leaders should enforce this. Even having clothes made from the wrong materials can cause horrendous injuries in an accident. If you are unsure what PPE you might need for your job, some examples include SCBA products, dusk masks, high vis, hard hats, goggles, steel-capped boots, and hand protection.

Some of these might seem obvious, but workers will often forget the importance of their masks, for example. Dust can be lethal, so masks must be worn at all times. This being so, every new person onto a site must be trained and shown around. They will need a complete health and safety induction, which should detail any risks or potential hazards. Each construction project will have different safety precautions to consider, so before any project starts, it is essential to run a risk assessment in great detail.

4. Do Not Take Risks and Shortcuts.

Sometimes, it can be tempting to take a shortcut to get jobs completed faster; however, there is the potential for risks with shortcuts. Taking unnecessary risks can be deadly on any site. The foreman or construction manager must mitigate the potential for risks by keeping their area clean and safe and monitoring workers’ behavior at all times.
