A Hero Of 1971 -Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu

Today Bangladesh has become independent under the leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. His contribution is never to be forgotten. But as I said, one has given leadership and millions of people have helped him. The name that we will never forget among these billions of people, among billions of warriors, is Mr. Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu, the son of Chittagong. He is already famous all over Bangladesh for the activities he performed during the war of liberation.

The Brutal War

This great war of liberation started on March 26, 1971 and ended with the independence of Bangladesh on December 16 of that year. This armed liberation struggle became the last manifestation of the deteriorating members of the family between East and West Pakistan on a number of severe issues, such as more than one incidents, adverse conditions, unequal financial distribution system and deprivation of administrative authority.

Issues that have strained relations between the two parts of Pakistan since the end of British rule in 1947 include land reform, inequality between the two provinces in terms of state language, economy and administration, provincial autonomy, East Pakistan’s defense system and so on. Pakistani soldiers kill anyone they see on the sidewalks, threatening to destroy everything in front of them.

Without any discrimination, the people of the city and all the public and private houses were destroyed and the tanks of the soldiers were roaming around. Many residential areas were destroyed by artillery and gunfire, and houses were set on fire. The soldiers entered the residential halls of Dhaka University and brutally killed many students. They also killed some teachers of Dhaka University last night. They attacked Hindu-dominated areas of old Dhaka, killing countless people, burning and looting houses, and raping women.

Seeing all this, the blood of Bengalis became hot, one of whom was our great leader Mr. Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu. He came down to the battlefield with his political experience and skills. Our famous and brave leader Alhaj Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu was one of the organizers of the great liberation war of 1971.

When the non-cooperation movement was going on on the eve of the war of liberation, Chowdhury Babu used to conduct the activities of the struggle committee from his Jupiter House in Patharghata. After the declaration of independence of the nation leader Bangabandhu came to Chittagong, Akhtaruzzaman Babu cyclostised it from his Jupiter House. This timeless declaration of independence was sent from Akhtaruzzaman’s own home to all places including Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra.

Most Important Deeds Of Chowdhury Babu During War

Akhtaruzzaman Babu has been active in various activities since the beginning of the war of liberation. He joined this great war because he was passionate about his country and a true patriot. What a person can do for his country, as much as he can, takes place in the pages of history. This brave leader of ours has done exactly that so that everyone remembers him for his brave deeds. When the war of liberation started, he did everything for his country and migrated to the neighboring state of India.

While there, he performed various duties of the expatriate Bangladesh government. He was an ideal member of the relief and rehabilitation committee of the Mujibnagar government in the midst of various honest activities. The war of liberation needed various help. He helped himself, and in order to build world opinion with the people of the world, he traveled abroad and visited various cities in Europe and America. He first went to London. From there he became a member of the Bangladesh delegation led by Justice Abu Saeed Chowdhury and later moved to the United States.
